ELLINWOOD — Claude Bill Elliot, 90, died March 13, 2012 at his home.
He was born June 22, 1921 at Hooker, Okla., the son of Clarence Elliot and Sara Wertz Ellliot.
He was a longtime Ellinwood resident, formerly of Turon. The Turon High School graduate was an employee of the Great Bend Co-op for 34 years. He was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ, Ellinwood; Three Corner Rabbit Club; Cheyenne Sportsman’s Club, KSRBA and American Legion. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict.
He married DeLoise Batchman Sept. 3, 1950 at Ellinwood.
Survivors include his wife, DeLoise Elliot, of the home; a son, Charles (Marita) Elliot, Ellinwood; a brother, Paul Vernon Elliot, Sublette; a sister, Catherine Bartholomew, Ellinwood; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Irene Nielsen; and a sister, Mary Carrier.
A Funeral Service is scheduled at 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 16 at Immanuel United Church of Christ, Ellinwood, with Pastor Katrina Palan officiating. Visitation is scheduled from 1 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Kimple Funeral Home. Burial will be at Lakin-Comanche District Cemetery, Ellinwood.
Memorial donations will establish a Trophy for State Fair Best of Breed Standard Chinchilla Rabbits, in care of the funeral home.
