Cleo May Barton

Cleo May Barton died April 22 at her home in Great Bend. Born in Moscow, Kan., she was the daughter of Roy A. and Bessie E. (Stevens) May. She married C. E. "Clem" Barton on Feb. 14, 1941, at Cimarron. They enjoyed 61 years of marriage. He died Dec. 9, 2002. A Great Bend resident since 1951, coming from Dodge City, she was a homemaker.

Mrs. Barton was a former member of Riverside EHU.

Survivors include one daughter, Linda Carter and husband Larry of Poulsbo, Wash.; two grandchildren, Jennifer Stern and husband Jason, Lewisville, N.C., and Robert Barton, Wichita; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Greg Barton.

Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 30, at Great Bend Cemetery, with the Rev. Ron Moser officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at Bryant Funeral Home, Great Bend. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to American Diabetes Association or Hospice Care of Kansas, in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.bryantfh.net.
