ELLINWOOD — Clifford Anthony Reid, 68, passed away in Ellinwood, Kan. on Dec. 7th, 2021. Born in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago on Sept. 5th 1953, he was the son of Horace and Yevonne (Hunt) Reid. A lifetime resident of Maloney Gardens in Trinidad and Tobago he worked as the founding pastor of the Christian World Outreach Mission church. Clifford earned a bachelor’s in Theology from the West Indies School of Theology and was the Valedictorian in bible school. He married Ivy Naomi (Smith) Reid on Dec. 27, 1975. They were married for 45 years. Other survivors include Clifford’s mother, Yevonne (Hunt) Reid; Children, Clifann Birney (Bryant), Jason Reid (Meredith), Clint Reid, and Crissy Reid; grandchildren, Joshua Birney, Rachel Birney, and Elise Reid; brothers, Andy Reid, Hugo Reid, Stanley Reid, David Reid, Lester Reid and Wayne  Moses; sisters, Irma Pinkerton, Althea David, Merle Lewis, Jennifer Best and Wendy Charles.

Clifford also worked as a police officer, helped with the management of his wife’s pre-school, and provided counseling services to parents of the children at the school. He was involved in Christian prayer meetings, which was a joy to him. He also enjoyed his work as a Pastor. Clifford was a kindhearted and loving person who worked hard to provide for his family and treasured his grandchildren. He authored and published the book, “The Life Giving Tree”. 

His funeral service will take place 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 18th at the First Baptist Church south of Ellinwood with Pastor David Wesner officiating. There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested towards funeral expenses in care of Minnis Chapel, PO Box 246, Ellinwood, KS 67526
