WICHITA Clinton Isom Petty, 84, died peacefully at his home in Reflection Ridge Retirement, Wichita, Kan. on Oct. 24, 2022. He was born Sept. 13, 1938 in Mt. Erie, Ill. to Harl and Alta Petty. On June 15, 1957 he married the love of his life, Donna Rae Christy in Hutchinson, Kan. He was retired from IBM, a Navy veteran, and a member of Northside Church of Christ, Wichita.
He is survived by his son, Chuck (Karen) of Macksville and daughter, Molly (Robert) Heyen of Overland Park; his grandchildren, Steve (Kristin) Petty, Gary (Jessica) Petty and Nicole Petty, all of St. John, Richard Petty, Great Bend, Elizabeth (Matt) Baur, St. Paul, Minn., Natalie (Reid) Stafford, Memphis, Tenn., Jared Heyen and Konrad Heyen, both of New York City, N.Y.; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brothers Harl Jr., William and Gerald; sisters Patricia Jackson, Lou Petty and Sue Lenear.
Services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. in Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, Kan. Family visitation will be an hour prior to services. Interment following services in Peace Creek Cemetery, Stafford County. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary.
