Darrell Leroy Holden

Darrell Leroy Holden, 76, passed away May 22, 2021, at Via Christi St. Francis, Wichita. He was born August 3, 1944, at Lakin, to Ralph & Vera (Deshler) Holden. He married Roberta Smith June 26, 1966, in Great Bend. 

A Great Bend resident for over 50 years, Darrell was a roustabout mechanic for FG Hall. He enjoyed doing any type of mechanic work, collecting guns and could handcraft just about anything you could think of. Darrell was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Vietnam War. He especially loved to spoil his grandchildren.  

Survivors include, his wife, Roberta Holden of the home; two sons, Danyon Holden and wife Brenda, and Darrell Holden and wife Aimee, all of Great Bend; a daughter, DeVonna Jaske and husband Kevin of Lyons; a sister, Linda Thornton of Pawhuska, Okla.; twelve grandchildren, Michael, Ty, Kenny, Stephen, Ryan, Breanna, Jacob, Braeden, Avah, Layton, and Noah; and eight great grandchildren, Leon, Elie, Luke, Nolan, Karter, Colt, Holden, and Gideon. He was preceded in death by his parents; a great grandson, Hunter; and a sister, Donna McVey.

Visitation will be held from Noon to 9:00 p.m., Thursday, May 27, 2021, at Bryant Funeral Home, with family to receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 28, 2021, at Bryant Funeral Home, with Pastor David Leroy presiding. Inurnment will be held at a later date. Memorials have been designated to the Darrell Holden Funeral Expense Fund, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
