Holyrood/Sterling — David A. Rains, 62, passed away Friday, March 30, 2018, at the Hutchinson Hospital. He was born Oct. 26, 1955, in Salina, Kansas, to Charles and Lois {Heer) Rains. David graduated from Salina Central High School in 1974. He married Debra Glover on March 6, 1976. He was a salesman working at OTASCO, Schendel Pest Control, Western Southern Life Insurance and the Ellsworth Independent Reporter.
He was a member of St. Paul’s UCC of Holyrood.
Survivors include his wife of the home; sons Nicholas, Fremont, Calif., Thomas {TJ), Lake St Louis, Mo., and William, Great Bend; sister Linda Rains, Texas; and five grandchildren; and two grandchildren of his heart.
Celebration of life Service will be held on April 7, 2018 at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Holyrood at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Debra Rains presiding. Memorials are suggested to St. Paul’s UCC, PO Box 26, Holyrood, KS 67456.
