LYONS — David J. Birzer, 54, died Dec. 5, 2015, at home in Lyons.  Born Sept. 18, 1961 at Berwick, Penn., he was the son of Gerald F. and Mary Ann Sink Birzer.
A resident of Lyons since 1988, and formerly of Ellinwood, he was a Leadman for North American Pipe, McPherson.  He graduated from Ellinwood High School in 1980. He was of the Catholic faith. He married Debra Lynn Julian who survives him.
Other survivors include a son Michael Gliem, Iowa; daughter, Brooke and Mica Stowe, Bellmont, N.C.; his mother, Mary Ann Birzer, Ellinwood; brother, Cletus Wolford, Ellinwood; two sisters, Dot Slack and Vickie Alexander, both of Great Bend; 2 grandchildren, Tatelynn Stowe and Mica Stowe Jr.  He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Birzer, and grandparents, Joseph and Marie Birzer and William Harold and Dorothea Sink.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, Dec. 11, 2015 at Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons. Burial will follow at 4 p.m. at Great Bend Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to The Storm/Special Olympics at Great Bend in care of the funeral home.
