CAMARILLO, Calif. — David Lynn Adams passed away peacefully Feb. 10, 2017, after a 29-year battle with cancer and multiple complications.
Dave was born March 9, 1943, in Los Angeles, the son of Don and Melba Adams. He graduated from Radium High School in 1961. He met the love of his life and wife of 55 years, Marilyn Adams, at Radium. Dave and Marilyn were married in 1962 and moved to the San Gabriel Valley in California.
Dave earned an electrical engineering degree from California State, Los Angeles and a master’s degree in systems management from the University of Southern California. He worked on the Mobil engineering team for the production and ship integration of EW systems for the USS Yorktown. He worked in civil service with the U.S. Navy. He was an engineer and manager, working with AEGIS and EW systems at PMTC and NSWES. He retired from the Navy in 2011 with numerous merits and awards, including the Meritorious Civilian Service award. Dave was a member and choir member of the United Methodist Church in Camarillo.
Survivors include his wife Marilyn; sons Chris Adams and Gary Adams; sisters Dawna Adams and Diana Lunsford; a sister-in-law, Carolyn Churchill, Larned; a son-in-law, Rob DeGruttola; granddaughters Brooke Adams, Kayley Adams and Sarah Adams and grandson Ryan Adams.
Funeral services were held Feb. 15 at Camarillo United Methodist Church. Interment was held at Conejo Mountain Memorial Park. Donations are suggested to the Camarillo United Methodist Church Music Department.
