OMAHA, Neb. — David Michael Gerstner, 62, of Omaha, Neb. died Sept. 16, 2012 after a short battle with lung cancer. Born April 18, 1950, he was the son of Al and Virginia Gerstner.  
David grew up in Great Bend attending St Rose School, Harrison Junior High and Great Bend High School. He also attended Pratt Junior College and Fort Hays State University. He was an avid sports fan and played baseball and golf all his school years. At the time of his death he was retired but had worked 20 years as a salesman for Hawkens Company.
Survivors include his parents, his children, Emily, Adam and Matt, his sister, Diana Deal, and brothers, Dennis, Mark and Joe Gerstner and nieces and nephews.
