GREAT BEND — Della M. “Gina” Timmons, 65, died May 4, 2016, at Homestead Health Center in Wichita.
Born Sept. 21, 1950, in Canon City, Colo., she was the daughter of John and Della (Forsgreen) Medina. A resident of Great Bend since 2002, coming from Topeka, she was employed at Larned State Hospital in housekeeping. She enjoyed playing bingo, going to casinos and traveling.
Della was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick Catholic Church and the Altar Society.
Survivors include her husband, Riley N. Timmons, of the home; a son, Gary Timmons and his wife Anne Marie, Buckeye, Ariz.; two daughters, Amy Jo O’Brien and Scott, Phoenix; Ariz., and Kali Burris and Jacob, Larned; stepdaughter, ChaRee Cozart and husband Terry, Pampa, Texas; a sister, Virginia Hoberecht and husband Don, Wichita; eight grandchildren, Ashleigh, Tiffany, Zachary, Kasi Jo, Britny, Jesse, Dahlia and Kiera; one great-grandchild, Keaton; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, John Medina; and a sister, Eunice Doty.
Altar Society Rosary will be held at 4 p.m. Friday at Bryant Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Great Bend with Father Ted Stoecklein celebrating. Burial will be in Great Bend Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Bryant Funeral Home.
