ELLINWOOD — DeLoise Batchman Elliot, 83, died Jan. 30 at Woodhaven Care Center in Ellinwood. Born Jan. 10, 1930, in Great Bend, she was the daughter of Fred Batchman and Katie Irene Herter. On Sept. 3, 1950, she married Claude William Elliot in Ellinwood. He died on March 13, 2012. A lifetime resident of Ellinwood, she was a farm wife and provided nursery care.
Mrs. Elliot was a member of the Immanuel United Church of Christ and Three Corner Rabbit Club.
Survivors include a son, Charles (Marita) Elliot of Ellinwood; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Vernon Batchman; and a daughter, Irene Nielsen.
Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Immanuel United Church of Christ in Ellinwood with the Rev. Casey Crosby officiating. Burial will be in the Lakin-Comanche District Cemetery in Ellinwood. Friends may visit from 3-8 p.m., with family present from 5-6 p.m., on Sunday, Feb. 3, at Kimple Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the Church Nursery Fund or the Garden Club.
