Deloris M. Steuri-McDowell, 82, died June 3, at home in Great Bend. She was born April 27, 1929, at Redwing, the daughter of Edward E. and Mary (Feltes) Klusener. She married Robert "Bob" McDowell July 18, 1951, at Great Bend. They later divorced and she married Orren Steuri Jan. 4, 1967, at Great Bend. He died August 15, 1977. She then re-married Robert McDowell. He died July 7, 2005.

She waitressed at the Snack-Bar and worked at Steuri Retail Liquor.

Mrs. Steuri-McDowell was a Great Bend resident since 1944, coming from rural Dubuque, Kan.

She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, the Altar Society, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, all of Great Bend.

Survivors include one stepson, Robert S. McDowell of Wichita; two stepdaughters, Connie Rose of Capistrano Beach, Calif., and Linda Durkee of Los Alimitos, Calif.; three sisters, Christina Klusener and Bernadine Homolka, both of Great Bend, and Mildred Prideaux of Dayton, Ohio; a step-granddaughter. Heather McDowell; and favorite pets: Oliver and Chiquita. She was preceded in death by four brothers, August Klusener, Richard Klusener, Leonard Klusener and Marion Klusener.

Altar Society rosary will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday and vigil service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, both at Bryant Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Great Bend. Interment will be at Great Bend Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.
