Dennis Patrick McGreevy, 60, died Dec. 9 at his home in Great Bend. Born April 19, 1952 in Great Bend, he was the son of William Stanley and June Lorraine (Murray) McGreevy. On April 23, 1976 he married Judy K. Bender in Great Bend. A lifetime resident of Great Bend, he was an equipment operator for the Kansas Department of Transportation.
Mr. McGreevy was of the Catholic faith. He enjoyed music, history, farming, the outdoors, and 1950s memorabilia.
Survivors include his wife, Judy K. McGreevy, of the home; his mother, June Lorraine McGreevy of Great Bend; one son, Coy McGreevy of Great Bend; three brothers, Michael McGreevy and his wife Colleen of Denver, Colo., Robert McGreevy and his wife Debbie of Pratt, and Timothy McGreevy of Hutchinson; several nieces and nephews; and his pet cats, Snooky and Rowdy. He was preceded in death by his father.
A vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Bryant Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Great Bend. Cremation will follow the service and a private family inurnment will be held at a later date. Friends may visit from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
