GREAT BEND — Dennis R. Hannaford, 48, passed away at his home in Great Bend on Friday morning, March 30, 2012 after an extended illness. Dennis was born June 25, 1963 at Quinter to Calvin E. and Thelma E. (Stockham) Hannaford.
The family moved to Great Bend in 1965, where he grew up and attended school. He was united in marriage to Teresa A. Wilkinson April 1, 1982 at Great Bend.
Dennis joined his father in Hannaford & Son Trash Service, which he later took over and operated until 1995. He then worked as a welder for various employers, and later on worked in the oilfields until his health declined. Dennis was a big fan of Harley Davidson Motorcycles and NASCAR, and loved fishing and camping. His biggest joy was in spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa A. Hannaford, Great Bend; a son, Lee Jacobs, Lansing; and a daughter, Teri Wilkinson, Great Bend; seven grandchildren, Michael Raymer, Annalise and Jacob Moore, and Blaze, Gage, William, and Jace Jacobs; a sister, Nyla Lonnon, Great Bend; 10 nieces and five nephews.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents and one nephew, Brian Lonnon.
Memorial Services are scheduled at 2 p.m. Friday, April 6 at the Harvest Reign Church, 1030 Harrison Street in Great Bend with Pastor Henry Conner officiating. There will be no viewing or visitation as cremation has already taken place.
Memorials may be made to the Dennis R. Hannaford Memorial Fund with the funeral home in charge.
