Diana Rae (Luse) Scheuerman 1962 - 2015

Diana R. (Luse) Scheuerman, 52, went to be with her Lord on Sunday morning, May 31, 2015, at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born on Aug. 19, 1962, at the old St. Rose Hospital in Great Bend, she was the daughter of Bert Anthony Luse Jr. and Ida Marie Crider Luse. In 1980, she graduated from Great Bend High School and in 1981, from Barton County Community College Academy of Beauty. A lifetime resident of Great Bend, she was formerly employed by Shear Expressions and Barton County until she suffered a stroke in 2004. On May 8, 1981, she married Tim Scheuerman. They later divorced. She was an avid lover of animals and rescued many cats and dogs from extinction and could not bear to have animals homeless or abused.
Survivors include her mother, Marie Luse of Great Bend; uncle, Richard Luse of Great Bend; cousins, Cheryl (Dave) Beesley of Darien, Ill., Dionne (Mike) Oldenburg of Alpine, Calif., Brennen Rivera, and Michael, Eric, Jake, and Sean Beesley, Arleen Whittaker, all of Great Bend, Sheryl (Mike) Butler of Hays, Michelle (Doug) Benoit of Esbon, Kelsey (Ethan) Beale of Wichita, Ashley Butler of Hays, McKenzie, Sydney, Thayne, and Colby Benoit of Esbon, and Terry Runion of Fort Collins, Colo.; and an aunt, Lois Runion of Phillipsburg. Diana was looking forward to being with her Lord and being reunited with her father; her grandparents, Raymond and Gladys Crider, Bert Luse Sr. and Minnie Luse; and her many beloved deceased pets.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 19, at Charter Funerals in Great Bend, with Evangelist Loren Dyke officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Great Bend City Cemetery. According to her wishes, cremation has been chosen. There will be no viewing or visitation.  The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Dream Inc. of Hays Summer Camps for Children of Alcoholics in care of Sheryl Whittaker Butler, 779 Golf Course Road, Hays, KS 67601 or the Golden Belt Humane Society of Great Bend.
