SALINA — Dolores Jeanie Pfannenstiel, 89, of Salina, Kan., passed away Thursday, Nov. 25th, at Eaglecrest Retirement Community.
Jeanie was born in Schoenchen, Kan. on Sept. 19, 1932, a daughter of the late Sophia (Herklotz) and Edward Werth. She was a homemaker, sales clerk at Ashton’s Supermarket in Salina and True Value Hardware in Norton, Kan.
Jeanie was a member of the Jaycee Janes Organization in Norton, Kan. She was also a member of Emmanuel Church where she served as the Greeter Coordinator of the church greeters for many years. Jeanie was a speaker for Women’s Aglow Christian Fellowship for 5-6 years.
Jeanie is survived by her husband of 68 years, Norbert L. Pfannenstiel; two daughters, Cynthia Meter (David), of Great Bend, Kan., Debra Thompson (James), of Olathe, Kan.; son, Kevin Pfannenstiel, of Irving, Texas. She is also survived by two granddaughters, Briana Kunze (Jason) of Wamego, Kan., Katrina Tobin (Ryan McKee) of Aurora, Colo.; two grandsons, Brent Meter, of Overland Park, Kan., Blake Pfannenstiel, of Aurora, Colo.; great grandchildren, Jase Kunze of Wamego, Kan., Gannon Tobin, and Keely McKee both of Aurora, Colo. She was preceded in death by son, Steven Pfannenstiel; daughter-in-law, Laurie Pfannenstiel; brothers, Earl Werth, Rev. Loren J. Werth; and sister, Thelma Werth.
Cremation has been chosen. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 11, at the Emmanuel Church, 1325 E. Cloud, Salina, Kan.
