Don Leon Kern

Don Leon Kern, 74, passed away April 27, 2021, at his home in Great Bend. He was born Dec. 17, 1946, at Great Bend, to Ervin and Lucille (Murphy) Kern. He married Donna Dino Feb. 19, 1966 at Great Bend. She died July 11, 1985. He then married Connie Fisher and they later divorced. He then later married Lisa Marie on March 12, 2021. 

A lifetime Great Bend resident, Don worked for Allen Drilling and most recently worked for E&E Paint & Glass. Don was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick Catholic Church. He especially loved to spend time with his family and his American Pit Bull Remi.  

Survivors include, his wife, Lisa Kern of the home; three sons, Lafe Kern and wife Erin of Hutchinson, Dino Kern of Morrison, Colo., and Reggie Kern and wife Meghan of Great Bend; a daughter, RaeGina Werth of Great Bend; a brother, Jerry Kern and wife Kayleen of Great Bend; a sister, Judy Cobb of Overland Park; 13 grandchildren, Lafe Kern, Jared Kern, Jordan Kern, Sasha Fernquist and husband Ben, Casey Kern, Sloane Kern and wife Tiffani, Corbin Kern, Shanel Kern, Salem Kern, Karson Kern, Kiley Heine, Sareal Werth and Sophie Werth; and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Donna Kern; a son, Shane Kern; and a grandson, Christopher Kern. 

Visitation will be held from 1:to 9 p.m., Sunday, May 2, 2021 at Bryant Funeral Home, with family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, May 3, 2021, at Bryant Funeral Home, with Father Don Bedore presiding. Inurnment will be in the Great Bend Cemetery. Memorials have been designated to the Golden Belt Humane Society, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
