ELLINWOOD — Donald G. Roth, 93, passed away at Ellinwood District Hospital on July 22, 2018. Born on Dec. 15, 1924 on the family farm North of Ellinwood he was the son of William and Cassie Roth (Strothman). Donald attended St. Peter & Paul School and later Ellinwood High School graduating in 1942. Mr. Roth then enlisted in the Army and was assigned to the Medical Core where he served in the South Pacific. Donald enjoyed 58 years of marriage with his loving wife Evelyn Roth (Rader). She passed away on April 10, 2007. Mr. Roth was a lifelong Ellinwood area resident where he worked as a farmer and was an accomplished carpenter and builder.
Survivors include sons, Philip Roth (Jan), Topeka, Kan., Mark Roth, Ellinwood, Kan., and Jeff Roth (Sandy), Ellinwood, Kan. Other survivors include five grandchildren, Chris Roth, Linsey Koshlap, Jacob Roth, Nick Roth, Josee Roth, and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, David Roth; three brothers, Bob, Leon and Walter; and three sisters, Lucille, Marian, and Dorothy.
Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m., Friday, July 27, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Ellinwood with Father Terrance Klein presiding. Burial will follow at Lakin-Comanche District Cemetery in Ellinwood. Visitation will be on from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Minnis Chapel in Ellinwood with Rosary/Vigil starting at 7 p.m. Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph’s Living Legacy Fund or Ellinwood Hospital Auxiliary in care of Minnis Chapel, PO Box 246, Ellinwood, KS 67526.
