GIDDINGS, Texas — A private celebration of life for Donald L. Bailey, 67, of Giddings, Texas will be held at a later date.
Donald Bailey was born on Oct. 18, 1956 in Great Bend, Kan. to Arthur and Katherine (Hudran) Bailey. Don was confirmed in the Catholic faith as a child at St. Rose Catholic Church and remained devoted to his faith throughout his life. Don was a 1975 graduate of Great Bend High School. Don spent over 40 years with the love of his life Jackie Arnold. Together they owned and operated Roadhouse Antiques in Giddings. Don enjoyed restoring antiques, traveling to antique shows all over the country, and running the store front. He also enjoyed studying research and restoring antiques, and in his younger days he enjoyed camping, boating, and fishing.
Don passed away in the early morning of July 20, 2024 at Harmony Care in Giddings.
He is preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Katherine Bailey; one brother, Tony Bailey; and one nephew, Mark Neidhart.
Don is survived by his wife, Jackie Arnold of Giddings; three brothers, Larry and wife Tori Bailey of Fischer, Rod and wife Martha Bailey of South Carolina, and Kevin and wife Eillen Bailey of Kasas; three sisters, Marilyn and husband Steve Petty of Kanas, Dian and husband Greg Allison of Kanas, and Alice and husband Paul Neidhart of Illinois; one sister-in-law, Rodgie and husband Jim Heartness of Kanas, as well as 12 nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
