GRANVILLE, Iowa — Donna R. Horkey, 63, passed away Jan. 19, 2016, at Orange City Area Health System in Orange City, Iowa. Born Aug. 5, 1952, at LeMars, Iowa, she was the daughter of Clark and Rita (Schladweiler) Cook. She was raised in Pipestone, Minn., and later moved with her family to Great Bend and Cherokee, Iowa. In 1971, she graduated from Gehlen Catholic High School in LeMars, Iowa. She graduated from Iowa Community College in Sheldon, Iowa in 1973. She was employed at the Family Eye Care Center in Sheldon, Iowa and Baum Harmon Mercy Hospital in Primghar for the last 15 years.
On Aug. 2, 1974, she married Daniel Horkey at Granville, Iowa.
Mrs. Horkey was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and church guild.
Survivors include her husband, Daniel of Granville, Iowa; three daughters, Dana Riley of Des Moines, Iowa, Laura Martin of West Des Moines, Iowa, and Gina Davis of Ankeny, Iowa; seven grandchildren; her mother, Rita Cook of Remsen, Iowa; one brother, Rodney Cook of Murray, Ky.; two sisters, Charlotte Braun of Remsen, Iowa and Joyce Stukey of Great Bend; her mother-in-law, Caroline Horkey of Remsen, Iowa; one brother-in-law, Wayne Horkey of Granville, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Clark Cook.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 29, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Granville, Iowa, with the Rev. Terry Roder officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Granville. Visitation will be anytime after 4 p.m. on Thursday.  There will be a parish rosary at 5 p.m. and a vigil prayer service at 7 p.m., all at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Granville.
