Doris A. Starkey 1919 - 2011

ELLINWOOD — Doris A. Starkey, 92, died Nov. 16 at Ellinwood District Hospital. Born Oct. 20, 1919 in Burlington, she was the daughter of William L. Graybeal and Mary Ann Finney Graybeal. An Ellinwood resident for nearly 50 years, formerly of Houston, Texas and Burlington, she was a bank teller and secretary.

Ms. Starkey was a member of the Ellinwood United Methodist Church and Eastern Star of Ellinwood.

Survivors include a son, Nolan Starkey, of Ellinwood; a sister-in-law, Margaret Towry of Burlington; five grandchildren, Jess Starkey of Hoisington, Shawn Starkey and Michelle Starkey, both of Kansas City, Mary Feemster of Ellinwood, and Angela Clawson of Lewis; several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers; and two sisters.

Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday at the United Methodist Church in Ellinwood with the Rev. Ryan Lynch officiating. Burial will be at the Lakin-Comanche District Cemetery in Ellinwood. Friends may visit from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Ellinwood United Methodist Church.
