RUSH CENTER — Dorothy M. Kershner, 85, of Rush Center died Saturday, March 31, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Center of Hays.
She was born April 10, 1926 in rural Rush Center, the daughter of Claybern A. and Margaret (Hemken) Foust.
Mrs. Kershner was a lifelong resident of Rush County. She was a 1943 graduate of La Crosse Rural High School. She was a postal clerk for the United States Postal Service before she retired. Memberships included the Hope Lutheran Church, Rush Center; Charter Member/WELCA, Rush Center.
She married Frank E. Kershner May 8, 1943 at Delphos.
Survivors include her husband Frank E. Kershner, Rush Center; two sons, Robert “Bob” Kershner, Brandon, Fla.; and Bruce Kershner, Rush Center; two daughters Cheryl Summers, Rush Center; and Marsha Coslet, Omaha, Neb.; two sisters, Arlene Rau, Phoenix, Ariz.; and Velda Lewis, Great Bend; and five grandchildren and many nices and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Claybern A. And Margaret (Hemken) Foust; a son, Steven K. Kershner; a son In Law, Don Summers; a Brother, Terry Foust; and a Sister, Carol Mohren.
Funeral Services are scheduled at 10 a.m. Tuesday April 3 at The Hope Lutheran Church, Rush Center with Father Steven Little officiating. Interment will be at La Crosse City Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 2 at the Janousek Funeral Home, La Crosse with the family receiving friends from 6 to 7 p.m. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m.
Church visitation is scheduled from 9 to 9:50 a.m. Tuesday, April 3 at the Hope Lutheran Church
Memorials are suggested to Hope Lutheran Church, or the donor’s choice.
