WICHITA — Dixon, Dorothy Marie was born Oct. 27, 1938 in Cody, Wyoming. She was the daughter of C. Myrle and Agnes (Sayles) Dixon. She was a resident of Kansas since 1949. Dorothy attended school in Great Bend and was a 1956 graduate of Great Bend High School.
Dorothy was a wonderful softball player. She played on the Great Bend Women’s State Champion Softball team in the late 1950’s. She moved to Wichita and played on, and coached several successful softball teams. Dorothy worked for Pearce Turk Dental, Cessna, and retired from Boeing in 1995.
Survivors include one sister, Rose (Carroll) Kelly of Great Bend; a niece, Debhra (T. Michael) Fegan of Wichita; two great nephews, Justin (Courtney) & Cody (Jessica) Kelly; one great niece, Brianna Brown; six great grand nieces and nephews; and friend, Don Paul Giessler. She was preceded in death by her parents; one nephew, Charles “Chuck” Kelly; brother-in-law, Carroll D. Kelly; and her good friend of many years, Judy Riley.
