Douglas Lorson, 55, died Jan. 3 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. Born April 9, 1958, at Abilene, he was the son of James Francis and Inez Esther (Strutt) Lorson. A Great Bend resident since 1983, coming from Hays, he was a sous chef for Five Oaks Club and various restaurants.
Survivors include one brother, Duke Lorson of Great Bend; two sisters, Pam Coleman of Great Bend, and Virginia McCartney and her husband Allen of Claflin; two nieces, Jill Sampson and Brooke Coleman; and one nephew, Grant Coleman.
A vigil service with rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Bryant Funeral Home. A memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Great Bend with Father Don Bedore officiating. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place.
