HOISINGTON — Duane H. (Peaches) Popp, 70, died Nov. 2 at Clara Barton Hospital in Hoisington. Born Aug. 21, 1940, in Barton County, he was the son of Herman Theodore and Esther (Steinert) Popp. On July 21, 1963, he married Cheryl A. Lane in Hoisington. A lifetime resident of the Hoisington area, he was a farmer/rancher and worked for LD Davis Drilling, was a tool pusher for Revlin and a former custodian at Roosevelt School and Middle School.

Mr. Popp was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Hoisington.

Survivors include his wife, Cheryl A. Popp, of the home; a daughter, Sheila Merritt and husband Ross of Hays; three sisters, Vida Singleton of Wichita, Gloria Arnberger and husband Dennis of Great Bend and Debbie Richardson and husband John of Ames, Iowa; a brother, Don Popp and wife Ruby of Hoisington; and two grandchildren, Justin and Jacqueline Gallentine of Hays. He was preceded in death by a son, Kevin D. Popp.

Funeral service will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Hoisington with the Rev. Steven Little officiating. Burial will be at the Hoisington Cemetery. Friends may visit from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m today and from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home and from 12:30 p.m. to service time at the church. Memorials are suggested to the Kevin D.
