Dutch Mannel, age 70 years, of Great Bend, Kan. passed away on Wednesday morning, July 10, 2024 at Azria Health Woodhaven in Great Bend. Dutch was born on Sept. 4, 1953 at Ellsworth, Kan. to Paul O. and Fern (Smith) Mannel. He grew up in Lincoln County, Kan. and lived in various locations including Ellsworth, Hutchinson, Burrton, Holyrood, Wichita, St. John and Salina, Kan. before coming to Great Bend to live with his daughter April in 2019. Dutch worked for S&K Oil Production in Burrton, Kan. until a back injury and health issues caused him to be disabled at the age of 32. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, traveling, and was active on social media and had a circle of friends he enjoyed keeping in contact with.
Survivors include two daughters April M. Mannel of Great Bend and Amber Mannel of McPherson; one brother Norman Mannel of Brookville and one sister Pauline of Washington state; nieces and nephews. Dutch was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Warren Mannel; and his former wife Stacey L. Mannel.
Cremation has been chosen and no services are planned at this time. The family has requested that Memorial Contributions be made in care of the family for later designation.
