Edna G. Schneweis, 89, died Nov. 22, 2017, at Cherry Village Nursing Home, Great Bend. She was born Sept. 9, 1928, at Oconto, Neb., the daughter of Joseph and Anna (Mertens) Kathman. She married Richard Schneweis Oct. 14, 1983, at Great Bend. He died Sept. 6, 2003. Mrs. Schneweis was a machine operator for Fuller Brush.
Mrs. Schneweis was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and the Altar Society, Great Bend. She enjoyed working in her flower garden and sewing, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include three sons, Kenneth Miller of Great Bend, Curtis Miller and his wife Linda of Salina, and James Miller of Great Bend; three daughters: Sharon Miller and Jeff of Great Bend, Judy Blanchard and husband Larry of Holiday Island, Ark., and Mary Ramsey and her husband Mike of Lyons; three sisters, Evelyn Simon of Wichita, Jane Ward of Pratt, and Kathy Reiter of Beloit; 22 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Leonard Miller; one daughter, Annette Pellett; one brother, Richard Kathman; five sisters, Vi Henning, Emma Adelheart, Judy Tiemeyer, Rose Adelheart and Anna Mae Seal; and one step-brother, Bill Mertens.
Altar Society Rosary will be at 4 p.m. and Vigil Service will be at 7 p.m., Monday, Nov. 27, 2017 at Bryant Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2017, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Great Bend. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
