OSAGE CITY — Edward Kooi passed away Sept. 7 in Osage City. Ed was born Nov. 19, 1930. at New York City, N.Y., to Dirk and Mary (Bierman) Kooi. He made the Air Force his career. While stationed in Topeka he met and married Milda Dietz on Aug. 13, 1967. She preceded in death Aug. 10, 1996. They moved with his career and eventually settled in Arvada, Colo. Later Ed and Milda moved to Lyndon and Ed worked for the Air National Guard in Topeka until his second retirement.
Ed and Milda were active members of Grace Lutheran Church in Osage City.
He is survived by four nieces and three nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Dick, and his wife.
Graveside serves will be at 2:30 pm, Friday at the Milberger Cemetery, Milberger, with the Rev. Amy Austin presiding. Military graveside rites will be conducted by VFW Post 7428 and American Legion Post 286. Memorials are suggested to United Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Milberger, in care of Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, Hoisington. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.nicholsonrickefh.net.
