LARNED — Eldon A. Hays, 86, passed away April 1, at Diversicare of Larned in Larned. Born July 21, 1927, in Pittsburg, he was the son of William Anderson and Hannah Laura Daykin Hays. On May 24, 1985, he married Linda Oles in Ness City. She survives. A resident of Larned, moving from Arizona in 2006, he was a grocery store manager. He was an avid hunter and loved any type of outdoor sports.
Mr. Hays was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Larned.
Other survivors include, two sons, Dallas David Hays of Larned and Thoman Anderson Hays of Phoenix, Ariz.; two daughters, Marilyn Montainge of Sedona, Ariz. and Laura Clarkson of San Francisco, Calif,; a sister, Lavon Dalby of Williamsburg, Va,; a sister-in-law, Faye Gatton of Great Bend; four grandsons; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, William Duane and David Lee Hays.
Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, at the Beckwith Mortuary chapel in Larned with Bob Sallee presiding. Private family inurnment will be held at the Larned Cemetery.
