PAWNEE ROCK — Eldon Clarence Brown, 70, passed away Sept. 17, 2024, at University of Kansas Health Systems – Kansas City, Kan. He was born on Jan. 5, 1954, in Ainsworth, Neb., to Everett and Wilma (Lake) Brown. On Aug. 25, 1973, he married Susan Owens in Vernon, Texas.
A long time Pawnee Rock resident, Eldon worked as a heavy equipment operator, most recently at Stone Sand Company. He was raised Methodist. Eldon enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of the home; two sons, Steve Groves and wife Tammy of Dundee, and Chris Brown of Osborne; daughter, Lisa Vonfeldt of Great Bend; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and numerous loved ones. He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ivan and Glen Brown; and sister, Maxine Davis.
Visitation will take place from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22, 2024, with family receiving guests from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., all at Bryant Funeral Home. Celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials have been designated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in care of Bryant Funeral Home, 1425 Patton Rd., Great Bend, KS 67530.
