Eldon Ernest Lutz 1931 - 2011

MACKSVILLE Eldon Ernest Lutz, 79, died March 24 at the Stafford County Hospital. The son of Ernest Franklin and Kathryn Alice (Brenn) Lutz, he was born Nov. 1, 1931 in rural St. John. Eldon was a resident of Macksville since 1982 and formerly of St. John, where he farmed. On June 15, 1951, he married Delores (Yarmer) at Great Bend, and he then married Betty J. (Freeman) DeGarmo on Apr. 2, 1982 at Macksville. She survives of the home. His memberships include Macksville Christian Church and the VFW. He also served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

Other survivors include, seven daughters, Karen Twitchell, Escatawba, Miss., Sharon Ruhl, Aurora, Colo., Linette Clark, Prairie City, Iowa, Jennifer McNulty, Aluchua, Fla, Christine Pippin, Warsau, Mo., Deborah Kephart, Lenexa, Julie Burkhart, Overland Park; a son, Jeff DeGarmo, Valley Center; five sisters, June Morton, Ridgefield, Wash., Clara Hathaway, Verona, Penn., Mary Gibson, Clifton, Colo., Ernesteen Rudy, Augusta, Annetta Schwalm, Littleton, Colo.; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m., Monday, March 28 at the Macksville Christian Church with pastors Derek Brown and Carey Haner presiding. Visitation will be on Sunday from 1-8 p.m. at Minnis Chapel in Macksville with family present from 6-8 p.m. Private burial will be in the Farmington Cemetery, Macksville at a later date. Memorials may be given to the church in care of the funeral home.
