Elizabeth (Betsy) Knapp 1912-2011
CASPER, Wyo, — Memorial services for Elizabeth (Betsy) Knapp were held June 29, 2011 at the First Presbyterian Church with Reverend Debra Cato officiating.
She was born in Buffalo, New York on October 17, 1912, the daughter of Dr. John Oppie  and Irene T. McCall.  On September 2, 1937, she married Dr. George M. Knapp in Larchmont, N.Y. The family moved to Casper in 1947.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Her community activities included the Girl Scouts and the Casper Fine Arts Club until her death.  She served on the board of directors of the Casper Symphony orchestra for 25 years.  She received the Casper Chamber of Commerce Award in 1990, a recognition of more than 50 years devotion to the advancement of the arts in Casper.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, Helen and Patty and a grandson, Kenny Fox.
Survivors include two daughters, Judith Fox and husband Earl, Great Bend; Linda Russell and husband Wally, Whidbey Island, Wash.; a son, Dr. Geordie Knapp, Everett, Wash.; a sister, a brother, six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
