MACKSVILLE — Eston Piland, 83, died July 25 at Sterling House in Great Bend. Born Aug. 20, 1928 in Macksville, he was the son of Russell H. and Alta M. (Dykes) Piland. A resident of Great Bend for eleven years, he lived most of his life in Macksville where he was a farmer and stockman and a graduate of Macksville High School. On April 26, 1950, he married Patty R. (Standish) in Hutchinson. She survives of the home.
Eston was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church and served on the Farmington Township board, both of Macksville.  
Other survivors include, two sons, Donald Piland (Shelly) of Macksville and Russell Piland (Malou) of Oceanside, Calif.; a daughter, Janet Walker (Dennis) of Buena Vista, Colo.; a brother Edwin Piland (Geraldine) of Great Bend; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.  
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday at the Grace United Methodist Church in Macksville with Pastor Byoung Lee presiding.  Burial will follow at the Farmington Cemetery in Macksville. Visitation will be from 1 - 7 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home in Macksville. The casket will be open at the visitation and not the service. Memorials may be given to Grace United Methodist Church or the National Kidney Foundation both in care of the funeral home.
