Etta Lorraine (Baeumel)Campbell, 83 of Great Bend, daughter of Charlie Baeumel and Hallie Etta Hedrick Baeumel, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, avid cross-stitcher and fisherman, passed away Sept. 21 in Wichita. She was a retired professional dog groomer. She was born at St. Rose Hospital in Great Bend on March 3, 1927.
On Nov. 11, 1946, she married Billy Jack "BJ" Campbell. He precedes her in death. She is also preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and one brother. She leaves behind a brother-in-law, Weldon Campbell of Louisiana; four children; Weldon Campbell and Rebecca Hiltunen, both of Great Bend, Jack Campbell of Orange Texas, and Janice Thomas of Wichita; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the First Church of God, 1224 Baker Ave., Great Bend. The family will accept visitors after the service during a meal served in the lower level of the church. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Inurnment will be at a later date. In an honor of her desire to provide ongoing help to children with diabetes, memorials are requested to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, 920 Main Street Suite 280, Kansas City, MO 64105, in lieu of flowers.
