LA CROSSE — Eugene F. “Gene” Littler, 86, died Aug. 25, 2016, at Locust Grove Village in La Crosse, Kansas. Born July 12, 1930, in rural McCracken, he was the son of Willis James and Edith Blanche (Jefferis) Littler. He was a resident of La Crosse since 1994, moving there from Kansas City, Kansas, where he resided for 40 years. A 1948 graduate of La Crosse High School, he earned a master’s degree in speech/hearing pathology from Fort Hays Kansas State College in Hays. He then attended Wesley Hospital School of Nursing in Wichita receiving his RN Degree. Upon graduation, he was employed by Shawnee Mission Medical Center in Shawnee Mission until his retirement.
Mr. Littler was a United States Army veteran. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in La Crosse and the Anthony Masonic Lodge No. 200 in Anthony.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Lois Joy Dreher; and one half-sister, Betty Lou Sargent.
