GREAT BEND — Evelyn L. Moore, 94, died May 5 at Holiday Resort in Salina. She was born Sept. 11, 1916 at McPherson, the daughter of Thomas and Sarah Clear Thacker.

She graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in Music Performance. Mrs. Moore was a long-time resident of Great Bend, having taught at Jefferson School. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Barton County Association of Retired School Personnel both in Great Bend.

She is survived by two daughters, Kathleen Switzer and husband Dan of Houston, Texas and Margaret Duell and husband Roger of Salina; four grandchildren, Paul Switzer, David Green, Trevor Duell and Aaron Duell; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by one sister, Irene Steffen.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Bryant Funeral Home with Pastor Nancy Modin officiating. The interment will be at Great Bend Cemetery. Visitation is from noon to 9 p.m. on Monday and 9 a.m. to service time on Tuesday at Bryant Funeral Home.
