HOISINGTON — Florence Marie Clayton Doze passed from this life Nov. 25, 2015, in Wichita. Born on Jan. 19, 1938, in Kingman, she was the daughter of Harry and Blanche (Wallace) Clayton. A long time resident of Barton County, where she raised her family, she worked as a dispatcher most of her adult life first in the oilfield then later for Barton County Sheriff ‘s office where she retired in 1998. After her retirement she spent her time helping others. She volunteered for both Barton County Youth Home and the Hoisington Girls Home (Logan Haus) and spent many years working with the Kansas Guardianship Program and as a Poll Worker for the Barton County Election Board.
Survivors include her children, Denton (Marcina) Doze, of Hurley, Miss., Kenton (Teri) Doze, of Hoisington and daughter, Rowena Clark of Stafford; one sister, Barbara (Kenny) Sowers of Kingman; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren whom she loved to play with and spoil. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Elwood (Woody) Doze; brothers, Dale Clayton, Harold Clayton; sister Phyllis Fellers; and grandson, William Hobdy.
Arrangements will be cremation and a private graveside service with internment at Waterloo Cemetery, Kingman County. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Sunflower Diversified Foundation or Rosewood Services Roots and Wings Endowment in care of the funeral home.
