GREAT BEND — Florine Burgardt, 85, died Dec. 6, 2011 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born Feb. 24, 1926 at Liebenthal, Kansas, the daughter of Alex C. and Catharine (Munsch) Herrman.
She married Harold Peter Burgardt May 27, 1946 at LaCrosse. He died July 13, 1999.
She was a long-time employee of Great Bend USD 428. Mrs. Burgardt was a Great Bend resident since 1968 coming from LaCrosse. She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick Catholic Church, the Altar Society, RSVP volunteer, and American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed fellowship at Club 1 Fitness.
Survivors include a son, Dr. Paul Burgardt of Los Alamos, N.M.
She was preceded in death by daughter-in-law, Dr. Diane McHose.
An Altar Society Rosary is scheduled at 4 p.m., Thursday at Bryant Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 9 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Great Bend with Celebrant Father Don Bedore. Interment will be at Great Bend Cemetery.
Visitation is scheduled from noon to 9 p.m. Thursday, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 7 p.m., Thursday at Bryant Funeral Home.
Memorials are suggested to the CKMC Foundation for the benefit of the Heartland Cancer Center, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
