LARNED — Floyd Glen Loughrige, 89, passed away Feb. 27, 2017 at Woodhaven Care Center, Ellinwood.
He was born Jan. 3, 1928 in Stafford County, the son of William Louis and Louisa Carolina Mitchell Loughrige.
He was the meat department manager at Dillons for 37 years in Larned and also worked for H & R Block for 17 years. He was a member of the First Christian Church, serving as a deacon, Larned noon Lyons Club, VFW and served on the Larned City Council, all of Larned. He served on the air craft carrier USS Princeton at the end of WWII. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, hunting and boating with family and friends.
On Oct. 15, 1949, he married Bonnie James in Dodge City. She survives.
Other survivors include a son, Mark Loughrige, Pratt; a daughter, Kathy (Paul) Heidrick, Topeka; three grandchildren, Alan (Lisa) Heidrick, Julie (Jeff) Moore and Lori (Brad) Scheuerman, all of Manhattan; and two great grandchildren, Allison and McKenzie Heidrick.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, William Jesse, Lloyd Paul (Bill) and Albert Wayne Loughrige; and two sisters, Ada (Jo) Shute and Elsie Lucille Crawford.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Larned Cemetery, with military graveside rites and Pastor Aaron Withrow presiding. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. to noon Thursday at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned.
