GARDNER — Frances Ann “The Wop” Minyen, 70, of Gardner, passed away August 23, 2011 at Olathe Medical Center surrounded by her family.
She was born June 5, 1941 in Saginaw, Mich., the daughter of Miles and Lucci (Napolitano) Wilkinson.
She grew up in Saginaw, Mich. and moved to Great Bend in 1977, and to Gardner in 2003. On Nov. 29, 1983, she married Denver Carl Minyen in Great Bend. She was a licensed Mental Health Technician at Larned State Hospital for 13 years.
Mrs. Minyen was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Survivors include her children, Richard and wife Peggy Wilkinson, Omaha, Neb., Shawn and husband Darrel Wilson, Ottawa; Shannon and husband Bill Boller, Camdenton, Mo., Scott and wife Apryl Catterfeld, Lenexa; and Wendy and husband Craig Radke, Spring Hill; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and her special dog companions Teddy and Lilly. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Denver, son Robert Catterfeld II, and sister Judy Ackerman.
A Memorial Mass is scheduled at 11 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 555 W Main, in Gardner. Inurnment will be at the Pawnee Rock Cemetery, at a later date.
