ELLINWOOD — Frances Lucille Jackson, 93, passed away on Feb. 6th, 2020 at Ellinwood District Hospital in Ellinwood. She was born in rural Mildred, Kan. on June 17, 1926 to parents Elmer Lee and Mamie Mary Marjorie (Ballard) Colgin and graduated from Moran high School in 1944. She married Oliver Glenn Jackson on Aug. 22, 1948 in Kincaid, Kan., he passed away on March 16, 2015.
A lifetime Kansas resident Lucille was a resident of Ellinwood, Kan. since 1973. Memberships include Ellinwood United Methodist Church and Order of the Eastern Star. She worked as a secretary for Kaiser-Francis Oil Co. and was an excellent cook specializing in breads and pies.
Survivors include sons, L.W (Butch) and wife Mary Jackson and Dennis and wife Diana Jackson; sister, Carol Synder; brother-in-laws, Cecil Jackson, and James (Maxine) Jackson; and sister-in-law Dorothy Dice. Other survivors include grandchildren, Kristin (Andrew) Harris, Jenny Hughes (Sean), Miles Jackson, Lacey (Jason) Valdez, Chris (Haley) Jackson; and great-grandchildren, Dakota Hughes, Brady Jackson, Hunter Valdez, Jackson Valdez, Kaylee Jackson, Kellie Jackson. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; brothers, Kenneth, Marvin, and Melvin Colgin; and great-grandchild, Wyatt Hughes.
Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, Feb. 10th at United Methodist Church in Ellinwood with Pastor Tom Reazin officiating. Interment will follow at Lakin-Comanche Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, Feb. 9th from 1-7 p.m. with family receiving friends from 5-7 p.m. at Minnis Chapel in Ellinwood. Memorials are suggested to United Methodist Church, Ellinwood Hospital Foundation, or Kindred Hospice in care of Minnis Chapel, PO Box 246, Ellinwood, KS 67526.
