RUSSELL — Frances Mae Boxberger, 85, of Russell, Kan., died on Friday, Oct. 02, 2020, at the Main Street Manor in Russell.
Frances was born on Jan. 08, 1935, in Great Bend, Kan., the daughter of William F. and Ida Caroline (Nuss) Boxberger. She grew up in Russell and graduated from Russell High School in the class of 1953. After high school, Frances graduated from Fort Hays State University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. She lived her entire life in Russell and worked as a legal secretary for Woelk, Cully, and Cole Law Firm in Russell. Her interests included visiting with friends and family, enjoying chocolate chip cookies, and membership at St. John Lutheran Church in Russell.
Surviving family includes her nephew Patrick Combs and wife Anne-Marie, their adult children John Patrick and Diana Frances; and brother in-law Ronald H. Combs all of Georgetown, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents William and Ida; brother, Paul William; sister Mary Jane Combs; nephew Michael Scott Combs; and an infant sister.
The family will arrange a private burial and service. A public memorial service may take place at a later date. Memorials can be sent to the mortuary and given to Main Street Manor Nursing Care Team to honor the outstanding care and concern given to Frances and her family. Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell, Kansas, is in charge of the funeral and memorial service arrangements.
