LARNED — Fred Robert Jennings, 81, passed away Oct. 13, 2022 at Pawnee Valley Community Hospital, Larned. He was born Feb. 12, 1941 in Larned, the son of Melvin and Roberta Gibson Jennings.
A lifetime area resident, he worked for the City of Larned as the electrical production superintendent. He was a graduate of Rozel High School, a member of Larned United Methodist Church and Methodist Men’s Group. He was a multi-talented handyman of many trades; he had a passion for preserving the history of farm equipment and to this end he built one-sixth scale working antique farm implements.
On June 4, 1961 he married Judith A. Fox at Larned; she survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Mike (Andrea) Jennings, Great Bend, Philip (Tammy) Jennings, Belpre; brother, Leon Jennings, Burdett; two sisters, Linda Maddy, Larned, Cheryll (Kenneth) Meier, LaCrosse; three grandchildren, Brittany (Tayler) Jennings, Larned, Mitch Jennings, Larned, Ian Jennings, Great Bend; and one great grandchild, Lane Jennings.
Memorial graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, 2022 at Larned Cemetery, Larned, with Pastor Tricia North presiding. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, 2022 with family present from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned.
