Gene Mull, 78, died Sept. 2, 2015, at his home in Great Bend. Born March 5, 1937, in Great Bend, he was the son of Elmer Eugene Sr. and Mildred Bertha (Werhahn) Mull. On April 5, 1958, he married Patsy Sue Smith at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Great Bend. A lifetime resident of Barton County, he was a buyer for J & J Distributing Company.
Mr. Mull was a United States Army veteran. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, American Legion Argonne Post 180, and Lake Barton Golf Club, all of Great Bend.
Survivors include his wife, Patsy Mull, of the home; one son, Tobin Mull and his wife Jerrie Ann of Great Bend; one daughter, Natalie Schommer and her husband Jeff of Wichita; five grandchildren, Brett Dueser, Brandon Dueser, Madison Dueser, Michelle Elliott and Aaron Mull;
one great-grandson, Elliott Tripp. He was preceded in death by one brother, William August “Bill” Mull.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Great Bend with the Rev. Mark P. Galbraith and Pastor Larry Schumacher officiating. Burial will be at the Great Bend Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2 to 9 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m., on Monday at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church or St. Rose Health Center Endowment Fund for Golden Belt Home Health and Hospice, in care of the funeral home.
