Gertrude Ann Bonham, 89, died Feb. 13, 2016, at Woodhaven Care Center, Ellinwood. She was born Oct. 25, 1926, at Swarthmore, Pa., the daughter of George Joseph and Ida W. (Waterson) Sullivan. She married Henry Franklin Irving Aug. 23, 1956, at Berwyn, Pa. They later divorced. She then married Tom Bonham Aug. 9, 1991, at Great Bend. He died March 4, 1995.
A Great Bend resident since 1976, coming from Allentown, Pa., she was a paraprofessional for Helping Hands Preschool and Head Start.
Mrs. Bonham attended the Bible Holiness Church, Great Bend, and volunteered for the foster grandparent program. She enjoyed reading, working in her rose garden and puzzle books.
Survivors include a son, Greg Irving and his wife Carol of Great Bend; three daughters, Gloria Orebaugh and her husband Randy of Great Bend, Carol A. Popp of Hutchinson, and Sandy Byington and her husband Billy of Festus, Mo.; one brother, Joseph Sullivan Jr. of Pennsylvania; 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, Edward Waterson.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19, at Hoisington Cemetery in Hoisington with the Rev. Dick Ogle officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, at Bryant Funeral Home.
