Gladys Rosalie Woodrow 1919 - 2012

Gladys Rosalie Woodrow, 93, died Dec. 27 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born Nov. 30, 1919, at Great Bend, the daughter of Benjamin Franklin and Minnie Evangaline (Mead) McMullen. She married Woodrow Wilson Woodrow on Oct. 29, 1938, in Russell.  They were later divorced, but remained very close.
Ms. Woodrow was a lifetime Great Bend resident, enjoying embroidery and watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune.
During World War II, she processed eggs for the local canary.  She was later employed as a private nurse for Wilbur Duckwall and performed secretarial work for several local law offices.  She was most recently employed as an LPN working for Larned State Hospital.
Survivors include one son, Michael Woodrow and wife Nancy of Pawnee Rock; one daughter, Meleah Frazer of Great Bend; six grandchildren, Melissa Malcolm, Alisha Frazer, Jenna Frazer Fanshier, Jenessa Tammen, Rostin Tammen and Adam Woodrow; four great-granddaughters, Ashlee Beers, Nicole Beers, Jacolyn Beers and Katherine Malcolm; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Gary D. Woodrow; eight sisters, Eileen McIver, Teresa McMullen, Elizabeth Sheen, Pauline Cooper, Dorothy Cole, Josephine Thornberg, Helen Green and Evelyn Wilson; four brothers; Cecil McMullen, Jim McMullen, Edward McMullen and Benny McMullen; and one son-in-law, Jim Frazer.
Private family inurnment will take place at a later date. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorials are suggested to Harden Hospice or Gladys Woodrow Expense Fund, in care of Bryant Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.bryantfh.net.
