ELLINWOOD — Glenn H. Breford, 84, passed away Nov. 12, 2016, at Ellinwood District Hospital. Born Aug. 11, 1932, in Wilson, he was the son of Herman John and Marie (Pfieffer) Breford. In 1950 he graduated from Holyrood High School. He later joined the United States Army where he served his country from 1953-1955. He married Joan Stumps together they had four children. He later married Anna Maria Erdman on Sept. 18, 1982, in Ellinwood. She passed away June 21, 2010. He was an Ellinwood resident since 1981, formerly of the Holyrood area where he was the owner of Breford & Sons Construction Company.
Mr. Breford was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and the local American Legion.
Survivors include son, Mark Breford (Terri), of Holyrood; a sister, Marilyn Kaiser of Claflin; and two step-grandsons, Kenny Stroede (Lauren), Great Bend and Jason Stroede (Kim), Holyrood. He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Anna (Erdman) Breford.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Ellinwood with Father Terrance Klein presiding. Burial will follow at Lakin-Comanche Cemetery in Ellinwood. Visitation will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday at Minnis Chapel in Ellinwood with family present from 5 to 6 p.m., with the Rosary/Vigil service starting that evening at 7 p.m. at the church.
