WICHITA — Gordon D. Thompson, 85, master carpenter, passed away Aug. 2, 2011.
He was born to Ruben and Iva Mae Thompson in Great Bend on Sept. 3, 1925.
He married Goldie Sharlene Schamaun on May 27, 1945.
He is survived by a sister, Donna Warren; and three sons, J.D. and wife Sondra; Charles and wife Debbie; and David Thompson. Mr. Thompson had seven grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6 and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 7 at Hillside West, 2929 W. 13th St. North, Wichita. Services are scheduled at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 8 at Antioch Christian Church, 3741 W. 15th St. North, Wichita.
A memorial gathering will be held at the First Christian Church, 5630 Broadway Ave., in Great Bend from 3 to 3:30 p.m. Monday, in lieu of graveside service.
