SALINA — Harlan W. Ritter passed away Monday, February 3, 2020. He was born May 11, 1941, to Ralph and Marie Ritter in Hoisington, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents and youngest sister Lonetta Perrotti. He is survived by his wife Rita and son Darrin of Houston, Texas; brother, Darwin Ritter and wife Vicki; sister, Nancy Clark and husband Randy, all of Salina, Kansas; and brother-in-law, Adam Perrotti of Flemington, New Jersey; plus many nieces and nephews.
Harlan graduated from Hoisington High School in 1959 and Ft. Hays State college in 1964. He started to work for Missouri Pacific Railroad in 1961 and upon graduation from college pursued a career in railroad management. His career included positions with Missouri Pacific, Union Pacific, Houston Belt Terminal, Texas City Terminal and Kansas City Southern railroads.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 2 p.m., Friday, February 21, 2020, at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Sandy Kennedy presiding. Family will greet friends from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service. Burial to follow at the Hoisington City Cemetery.
