HOISINGTON – Helen Margaret (Penka) Kalina, daughter of Emil and Hedwig (Heger) Penka, died Dec. 11, 2014, at Locust Grove Village, La Crosse.
She was born Dec. 9, 1924, at Redwing. She married Joseph J. Kalina at O’Neill, Neb. on Oct. 10, 1950. He died May 29, 1980.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church at Hoisington and the St. John Altar Society of Hoisington. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America for more than 25 years at O’Neill, Neb. She had been a housekeeper for the priests for over 15 years and was a retired homemaker.
A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled at 10 a.m. Saturday April 25, 2015, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Hoisington. Inurnment will be at Calvary Cemetery, O’Neill, Neb. at a later date. Cremation has taken place. Friends are welcome to sign the memorial book Monday through Friday.
